Grandma June's 80th Birthday!!!

On June 12th we had my Grandma's 80th birthday party. It was suppose to be outside at a park by a lake, but of course it rained most of June so we had to have it at a church instead. We still had a great time.
Grandma June with some of her siblings.
Will singing Follow the Prophet for my Grandma.
All of the Grandkids. It isn't very often that we are all together. And it is kind of hard to get a bunch of crazy adults to all smile at the same time.
Lisa and Cristy were going for the cheerleading pose, so I went in for the splits.
Tony also trying the splits.

Sam's First Triathalon!!!

A few weeks ago Sam did his first Triathalon. He did such a good job. He was pretty nervous because he didn't quite know what to expect. But he did great especially since he didn't even practice.

He doesn't have the best form but he did it.
Look at that Lean Machine!!!
Ryan ended up running with him.
Way to go Sam!!!

BaSEbaLL

We have stayed very busy lately. Sam and Jack have both been playing baseball so we had games 4 nights a week plus practices in between. Sam's team did really good this year they were in the Championship game and ended up taking 2nd. He had the same great coach this year, and several friends from school on his team. It is so fun to see the team as a whole get better throughout the season. Ryan coached Jack's team this year. He did machine pitch again this year. Jack had a few school friends on his team too.  And Little Will loved going to watch his big brothers play, he loves watching any sport. But his favorite this was getting a Push Pop from the Snack Shack, and I am pretty sure Jacks favorite thing was the Snack Shack too. Jack always had his pockets full of pennies to spend at the games.

Sam was a good little hitter. He was the first at bat so he was able to steal home a lot.
I love their cute uniforms.

Jack is our cute lefty.

Eye Dentist

This morning as soon as Jack woke up he came into the kitchen and he asked me "Mom do I still have the sores in my ears?"  I said, "I don't know I can't see very good right now" I had just gotten up, and was still trying to wake up, and the light in the kitchen wasn't on yet. And Jacks says, "Mom you need to go to the eye dentist because I can see."

WOW it has been a while.....

WOW it has been a while since I have made a post. We have stayed really busy lately Sam and Jack are both playing baseball . We have games 4 nights a week and a few practices in between. Ryan is Jacks coach again this year, he does a great job with the kids. It is so much fun watching Sam and Jack play they are having so much fun. They both have several friends on their teams so that is fun.

Will is still a funny little guys. He talks all the time I mean ALL the time. Back in February we took my Grandma June to Delta with us for my moms birthday. Poor Grandma had to sit by Will the whole time. On the way back home Grandma turns to Will and kind of yelled, "Do you ever shut up? Do you ever shut your mouth?" It was so funny! Poor Grandma we really wore her out, I mean WILL really wore her out. He doesn't ever shut up, he is so loud, and talks all the time. But he is so dang cute and funny. He is still really small and talks pretty good, when we are in public people always look at him in shock and ask me how old is he?  Because he is so tiny and talks really well. Will is still obsessed with sports. I mean every sport and he knows what you do in every sport.

Ryan is staying busy with work, church, and baseball. He has decided not to continue with the governor thing right now. There are several reasons he decided not to continue, but there is a pretty good chance he will run again in two years. We have learned a lot during the time he was doing it, and we still have a lot to learn. It was a really neat experience we had so much support for family and friends.

I have been staying busy chasing my boys around, and doing mom stuff. Ryan and I just got an additional  church calling to be the chair people in our ward for our Stake float that is going to be in the parade downtown on the 24th of July.  Yay.

Oh and you are the Bishop

And you are the 2nd Counselor.

My 3 boys were playing Bishopric. It cracked me up. :0)

Ryan is running for Governor!!

For the last year or so Ryan has felt like he needs to get involved politically some how, but we were thinking more on a smaller local level like school board, city council or something like that. Then a few months ago after much prayer and many struggles over the last couple of years we got an answer. Ryan called and told me he has something to tell me but that he couldn't do it over the phone. So my first thoughts were oh great what did he do. But he reassured me that it wasn't anything bad but he would tell me when he got home from work. By the time he got home I already knew what it was, I just needed to hear it come out of his mouth because I couldn't even say those words. He had a hard time saying them too.

Over the last few years Ryan has gotten very passionate about politics but at the same time he hates them. He feels like so many others do that there needs to be a change, that the people should have more of a say and should be heard. Ryan has never been involved in politics in any way. He does however love our country, our state, and loves people.  We both now this is what he is suppose to be doing right now. We have learned alot and are still learning everyday. We have had many neat spiritual experiences over the last few months.  I am proud of Ryan and the courage he has to stand up and try and make a difference. What ever the out come will be we will be happy, because we have already had great experiences and learned so much. If anyone would like to help in anyway we would love it.

I feel loved when.....

Here is a question for you.

I feel loved when.....

Last night for our Relief Society Activity we talked about the 5 Love Languages.

*Words of Affirmation
*Quality Time
*Receiving Gifts
*Acts of Service
*Physical Touch

I found it very interesting. We all feel loved in different ways. Some like to be told I love you, others like spending time with someone, or gettting gifts from someone, or even having someone help do something as simple as taking out the trash for them, and some feel loved by touch: holding hands, kissing, hugging, etc.

Some of us are even bilingual we might have two or three of these LOVE LANGUAGES.

Tonight I asked my little family this question. Not one answer was the same. It is interesting to see the differences. I am excited to try and focus on each individuals LOVE LANGUAGE. So each one in my family feels my love for them. It is very important to feel loved and valued. If we do not feel loved we might turn to things that do make us feel loved and they might not be good things.(I think for teenagers especially)

I think too that we tend to show our love to others they way we want to be loved. Not always but maybe sometimes.

You can go to this website and take a quiz to see what your LOVE LANGUAGE is. http://www.5lovelanguages.com/assessments/ I took the personl profiles test. It takes about 10 minutes. My results were a mix of all of them but my main one was Quality Time. I do love spending quality time with people with no distractions.

I really learned a lot from that little class last night and hope you might learn some things as well. :0) I would love to here some feed back if you take the Quiz.

Will turned 2!

Will turned 2 on January 18th. I can't believe he is two. He is still very small, but such a cutie. He loves all sports. He loves football, basketball, tennis, fights(ufc fights), baseball, golf, and soccer. When we were at Grandma Tinas a couple of weeks ago he told her he wanted to watch football. There were no games on so Ashton had to turn on an old game that he had recorded so Will could watch. Will loves to yell and cheer and say touchdown while holding his arms up. Will also loves to sing and loves playing with Sam and Jack. He is such a fun sweet little man.

He shared his birthday party with his cousin Kelda. Kelda turned 6 on January 13th. We had the party at the Legacy Center in Lehi. We did cake and ice cream in a conference room then went swimming. All of the kids had so much fun swimming. The only crappy thing was that there were tons of people swimming there that day. When Will takes a bath at home he always tells us he is swimming, he really loves swimming.
Will couldn't blow out his candles so Kel had to help him.

ChRisTmAS!!

I am really a slacker, but here are a few pictures from Christmas. We had a great Christmas. We did our usual and had dinner on Christmas Eve. After dinner we went on a drive to look at lights and when we got home the Elves left new jammies for the kids. They also left a note for Sam and Jack reminding them to keep their room clean. Jack did not believe us that Santa was coming that night he was sure that he was coming on Christmas night, we really had to do come convincing. I don't think he was totally convinced though. Sam didn't get any sleep that night he was so excited. We woke up Christmas morning around 7. Sam had to wake Jack and Will up. On Christmas Day my parents and my brother David came up to visit us. The kids always love to have the Grandparents visit. The next day we headed down to Delta for a couple of days to visit the rest of the family. We are so blessed and grateful for great family and friends.

Beckstrom Christmas Party

This year we had the Beckstrom Christmas Party at our house. Instead of buying sibling and cousin gifts we pick a family that is in need and go shopping for them. It is so fun to go shopping together. It is a great experience for our kids to give up something for someone else.  After we went shopping we came back to our house for lunch and to wrap the gifts that we bought.
Rylee, Luke and Mal
Missy
Ryan and Jeremy
Jack, Dexter, Kade, and Sam
Will, Grandma, and Jolie
We did buy some dollar gifts and let the kids play White Elephant.
The kids played Sponge Bob bingo for money and candy. My funny dad put a napkin over his eyes because the lights were in his eyes when he was trying to take a nap.

Nielson Christmas Party

Back in December we had a Nielson family party in the O.C.(Oak City)
We had a good time hanging out with some of Ryans family.
Ryan with his brothers.

Cute Lil' Will

Will was enjoying some whip cream.

Will is such a fun cute little guy. He is so fun to have around.

Last week I was changing his diaper and he said "SCARY MONSTER" and I asked him where? And he said, " RIGHT THERE" pointing to his closet, then he said "IN BED". So so funny.

He always has us laughing. What a cutie.
